Ashington’s Craig Scott has given manager Gary Middleton a timely boost ahead of Wednesday night’s Northumberland Senior Cup final against Whitley Bay at St James’ Park.
The defender said: “I’m available for selection.”
Scott, who pulled up with a hamstring injury against Team Northumbria and who has consequently been sidelined for the past month, came through a full match against Norton & Stockton Ancients on Saturday.
He had made a brief appearance for the last five minutes as the Colliers gained a 0-0 draw against Spennymoor on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old added: “I’ve got through the game against Norton with no reaction and the hamstring is OK.
“I was a little bit tired towards the end but everything feels fine.
“I’m definitely 100 per cent fit and hope I’ll be in the squad for Wednesday – but all I can say is that I’m available for selection.”
