Cramlington Town are through to the Northern Alliance Combination Cup final after an end to end semi-final win over Shilbottle CW.
After taking the lead inside the opening ten minutes and seeing the opposition reduced to ten men soon after, Cramlington were pegged back by the visitors, who were being given a second chance in the competition after being re-instated after losing their quarter-final to Wallsend BC, who it turned out had fielded an ineligible player.
But Town responded and two quick goals put them 3-1 in front.
Despite having a numerical advantage, Cramlington were once again pegged back as the visitors scored twice to make it 3-3.
The pattern continued as Cramlington went 4-3 in front from the penalty spot but Shilbottle continued to battle and made it 4-4.
But a second penalty for the home side proved vital as they scored and ran out 5-4 winners.
