Cramlington Town FC returned from the ESF Festival of Football at Butlins in Skegness as U11 champions.
The team, who were well-deserved winners, were presented with the ESF Champions trophy by former Liverpool, Tottenham and England midfielder Danny Murphy and Sue Smith.
Their performances and hard-earned championship win means they automatically qualify for the ESF Grand Finale, taking place in July at St George’s Park.
In the final they will be competing for the U11s’ crown against the best of more than 1,200 participating teams competing in ESF 2016.
Danny Murphy said: “ESF continues to produce a really high standard of football and all the children who attend look like they’ve had a great time at the festival.
“With so many teams involved, being crowned ESF Champions is no mean feat, so congratulations to Cramlington Town FC.”
Following their victory, Stewart Lovejoy, from Cramlington Town FC, said: “Going on tour to ESF always guarantees a great time, and this year was no different.
“Thanks to the organisers and to Butlins for hosting us, they helped create a memorable experience for all the players as well as their families.
“We put in some top quality team performances and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of playing against teams from different parts of the country.
“To be crowned ESF Champions in the U11 tournament and to be presented the trophy by Danny Murphy was a fantastic way to end our ‘tour’, the boys are already counting down the days to the ESF Grand Finale.”
