BLYTH Rangers Under-13s Deportivo finished the season with a comprehensive victory against North Shields.
Kristian Sands scored the opening goal in the third minute when Shane Clough played the ball into his feet and his low shot beat the North Shields keeper.
It was two a minute later when Clough’s shot rebounded to Sands who scored from close range.
David Dunworth then made it 3-0 with a dribble into the box before he placed his shot past the keeper before it was four by the ninth minute when Jack Bell played a ball into the box and Jamie Worton’s first time shot went into the top corner.
Sands saw his shot blocked in the tenth minute and this time it was Liam Thomson who latched onto to rebound to make it five.
Rangers then took their foot of the gas and North Shields scored in the 16th minute to make it 5-1, before Sands was on hand again to score following another blocked shot by Clough.
To their credit Shields scored two goals in a couple of minutes to make it 6-3 and that’s how it stayed until half-time.
The second half started with Rangers forgetting the basics – pass and move – with players shooting or trying to beat too many men.
The seventh came in the 54th minute, this time Dunworth played the ball in to man of the match Sands for his fourth of the game.
Dunworth then went on another mazy dribble in the 56th minute before calmly placing the ball in to make it 8-3, and then following a great ball by Tom Bexton, Dunworth scored Rangers’ ninth in claiming his hat-trick.
Rangers now head off to Berwick for their end of season tournament.
