A GAME of two halves saw the points shared between Blyth Rangers Deportivo Under-14s and Heaton Hawks.
The home side started the better and took the lead when Shane Clough split the Heaton defence with a great through ball and Neil Nelson fired past the keeper.
This spurred Heaton into action and keeper Alex Cockburn was called into action to make three good saves.
Blyth had chances to increase their lead with David Dunworth, Reece Halliday and Clough all going close.
The second half saw Heaton equalise within a minute of the restart.
A ball over the top saw Cockburn left exposed and he saw the ball bounce out if his hands and into the path of a Heaton player who knocked it into the unguarded net for the equaliser.
Man of the match Halliday thought he had earned Blyth a penalty but the referee waved his appeal away.
Both teams had further chances to win the game but had to settle for a hard fought draw.
