Dunston UTS boss Billy Irwin said his side had finished off a good week after recording a 3-1 victory over Ashington at Woodhorn Lane on Saturday.
Irwin said: “I was delighted with the three points and I thought we probably deserved it.
“We had some good chances where we should have maybe scored two or three more, and the Ashington goalkeeper Conor Grant has made a couple of good saves, especially at the end.
“However, it was pleasing because we have had a good week by taking seven points out of nine from three tough games.”
He continued: “We got an early goal then Ashington have broke and I thought we could have been a bit tighter when they scored from a corner through Michael Dixon.
“But after the equaliser we should have made it two when the ball was scrambled around the box.
“We have both had a lot of games lately and it’s natural that you are going to pick injuries up, which both sides have done.
“We’ve had a bit of an up and down season, but the lads are confident now and we are hoping to finish the campaign off strongly.”
