The move sees the 19-year-old return to the National League North club after he spent a three-month loan spell at Croft Park last season.

Amantchi scored two goals in 16 appearances during the time – but signed off in style as he grabbed a memorable equaliser in a thrilling 3-3 home draw against North East rivals Gateshead on New Year’s Day.

The former Chesterfield striker had a trial with Championship club Middlesbrough during the summer and recently departed Darlington after a short time with the Quakers.

Amantchi’s return to Spartans has led to the departure of fellow striker Ade Gbolahan and manager Michael Nelson revealed the reasons behind the decision.

He said: “I know Levi from my time at Chesterfield and am aware of his strengths and weaknesses.

“To get Levi in we unfortunately had to make room for him financially and had to let Ade go and we thank him for his efforts during his time at the club.

“Levi just seemed to tick more boxes than Ade with being from the area and knowing the club.

“I’ve spoken with Levi and he knows what I expect of him.

“Hopefully he can come in and provide some extra competition and firepower to our frontline.”

Amantchi could make the first appearance of his second spell at the club when Spartans host York City on Wednesday night.

Steve Watson’s men are Blyth’s first opponents after the club went into self-isolation in mid-November.
