Ex-Newcastle United man McGarry hands out awards

New Hartley Juniors held their annual presentation night with trophies handed out by Blyth Spartans manager Tom Wade, who played for Hartley in the late 70’s and Ron McGarry, who played 132 games for Newcastle United, scoring 46 goals, in the 1960s.

McGarry presented the John Maley Trophy to skipper Darren Hamilton with the side having beating Lampton Street 2-0 in the final.

The player of the year award went to striker Adam Bains who, also picked up the top scorer honour.

Players’ player of the year went to Tom Potter while Callum Johnston picked up young player of the year.
