Former Sheffield Wednesday youngster Adam Harvey has re-signed for Bedlington Terriers.

The 19-year-old said he was delighted with the new manager’s philosophy and the chance to play in a position which suits his style.

Harvey said: “Despite the troubles of last season, Fez [Andy Ferrell] has brought in some new lads and changed the whole team, it looked a good set-up, I really like the place and it is local for me.

“Andy is a good man, he brought in Hoggy with him and they want to play proper football and it suits me down to the bone really.

“On a personal note, I’d like to get on the scoresheet more, do my best in every game and keep a bit of consistency going.”

The midfielder was an ever-present in the starting line-up last season, but he was regularly played out of position as a full back.

He added: “I don’t mind playing full back every now and again, but it really is nice to get out there and be involved with the play, whether it is scoring goals or assisting goals.

“I felt a bit limited at right back last season and I like to contribute to things, you can only do so much from there.”

Harvey has played in a more attacking role under the new manager and in his first three games of pre-season, and the manager has praised his performances.

Ferrell said: “Adam has a lot of ability and is a very attacking player, I said to him that he will never be playing right back in my team for as long as I’m around.

“If Adam keeps his attitude the same as it has been so far, there is no doubt in my mind that he can go as far as he wants in the game. if I can help in any way, I will because I am a big fan of his.”

Harvey added: “To have been praised by Andy is good, it is a big pat on the back for me and I am getting used to playing with the new players, it is going well.”
