Jarrow Roofing boss Richie McLoughlin was delighted with the way his side battled back from a two-goal deficit to claim a share of the spoils on Saturday.
And he thought they were unlucky not to take all three.
“I was delighted with a point,” he said afterwards.
“We decided to push Dan Kirkup up front and he dealt with the Ashington centre halves quite well because we got some chances and it also gave John Campbell space.
“I thought we should have won the game in the end because if you look at chances, Ashington didn’t have that many, and what they did have they put away whilst we on the other hand didn’t tuck away our opportunities and were unlucky.
“At the end of the day, I’m happy with a point up here, to be honest.
“Ashington are a good, strong team with a lot of experienced players – but on the other side, so too have Jarrow Roofing and we are going to be a force.”
