ASHINGTON Ladies made it 21 league wins in a row as they defeated fifth place Newcastle University in a hard fought match after coming from behind to win 5-2.
Stacey Naples put Ashington in front on eight minutes with a shot from inside the box, but two goals by Lizzie Campbell put the visitors into a shock half-time lead.
The home side came out in the second half and attacked from the start with several chances going begging before Naples equalised on 65 minutes with a 20-yard chip.
Minutes later, Kristie Fenwick went on a mazy run across the box and slotted home to make it 3-2, then Danni Clasper and Fenwick both missed good chances when put through.
Naples completed her hat-trick with a powerful shot from outside the box then Jess Hooper stabbed home right at the death.
