League champions Burradon and New Fordley put seven past Central

Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League premier division champions Burradon and New Fordley scored seven without reply at home against Ashington Town Central.

Leading the scoring was star man Connor Andrews with a hat-trick. Further goals came from Ian Lee, David Atkinson, Joe Bestford and Andrew Purvis.

Red Lion Earsdon just beat Blyth Waterloo Pub by the odd goal in nine. Goals for Red Lion came from Michael Butcher (2), Mitch Rennie (2) and Scott Purcell. On target for Waterloo was Stuart Dickinson (2) and Martyn Hepple (2).

In division one, Blyth United Services beat visitors FC Beacon with goals from Martin Robinson and Gavin Agnew. Lewis Briggs was on target for Beacon.

Guide Post Social Club won 4-1 at home against Marden Residents. Goals from Michael Douglas (2), Mathew Wilkinson and Alan Gibbard won it, with Marc Hunter scoring Residents’ consolation.

High Street went down for the second week running against Ashington Northern. After losing the cup final last week, Street went down by the odd goal in five. Strikes for Street came from an Alan Goldie penalty and Anthony Goldie. On target for Northern were Chris Bains (2) and Chris Dryburgh.

Newsham Victory won 4-2 at home against bottom club East Chevington. On target for the Vic were David Thompson, Jamie Harrison, Jordan Wright and Paddy Allen. Brad Simpson and Calvin Fenwick scored for Chevington.

Spring Gardens beat visitors Whitehouse Ashington 6-1, who had Paul Key on target. Scoring for Spring Gardens was Steven Goicoechea (4), Kevin Watler and John Amos.
