Lynemouth Institute through in Sunday league cup

In the second round of the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League George Davison Cup, Lynemouth Institute won 3-1 at home against Forest Hall.

Richard Packard (2) and Thomas Morgan scored their goals with Tony Robinson replying for Forest Hall.

Ashington Bubbles went through with a 3-0 home win against Blyth Sports and Social Club thanks to strikes from Kris Allington, Brent Aisbitt and Anthony Wright.

Ashington Grand won 7-6 on penalties after they and Blyth Waterloo finished 2-2 after 120 minutes. In normal time David Jones and Kyle Downey scored for Grand with Anthony Rutherford and Gary Armstrong replying for Waterloo.

Blyth Comrades won 3-0 at home against Red Lion with goals from the three Daniels, Carr, Long and Wilson.

Burradon and New Fordley had little trouble reaching the next round with an 11-0 home win against Beacon thanks to strikes from Daniel Young (3), Joe Bestford (2), Ian Lee (2), David Atkinson (2), Mathew Tumilty and Kieron Pyle.

In the premier division their were wins for Cramlington Phoenix and Wansbeck Flavour.

Phoenix won by the odd goal in five at New Delaval and Newsham. David Woodcock and James Bell scored for Newsham, but Jamie Laidlaw, Louis Snedden and Sean Glendinning won it.

Flavour Bar scored nine with out reply at home against High Street. Chris and Michael Hogg both hi hat-tricks with Richard Hall (2) and Stephen Frater also on target.

In division two, A E Phoenix won 3-0 at home against Cramlington Green with goals from Kevin Chapman, Jason Wilson and Gavin McMillan.

Last Orders won at 3-1 at home against Marden Residents with strikes from Andrew Dodds, Ross Gilchrist and Darryl Pendleton. Chris Darroll scored for Residents.

Blyth South Beach beat visitors Newbiggin Bankhouse 4-1 as Steven Mathewson and Adam Emmerson both scored twice. David Jobson hit the consolation.

Blyth United Services went down 9-3 at home against Ashington White House. Joe Rose, Michael Holland and Craig Waggott scored for the home side while Gavin Armstrong led the scoring for the White House with 5. Ben Davison added two more with Michael Dance and Craig Towert also on target.

Stakeford Cherry Tree won 3-1 at home against Newsham Victory with goals from Ashley Duff (2) and Andrew Youart. Barry Newton scored for Vic.

Blyth Isabella Colliery were in action in the NFA Minor Cup first round but lost 10-2 at Newcastle Fox and Hounds. Their goalscorers were Neil Brabbs and Eoin Ridley.

This Sunday Burradon and New Fordley are at home against St Peters in the NFA Sunday Cup.
