After an astonishing season last year, Blyth Spartans striker Dan Maguire got his 2014-15 campaign off to the best possible start.
The former Seaton Delaval man scored an unforgettable opener in the opening day win over Grantham Town and immediately set his sights on rectifying one of the most disappointing factors of last season.
Spartans travel to Ashton United on Tuesday night and Maguire wants his side to improve their record on the road, starting with the game against last season’s beaten play-off finalists.
“It’s a good way to get going this season,” he said.
“We start as we mean to go on and we have to take that into Tuesday at Ashton.
“We know our record away from home was poor last year so we have to improve on that this time around.”
