Cramlington Juniors U15 Reds claimed their first silverware of the new season with a 3-0 victory over Montagu Boys Club in the David Crichton Cup final.
Played at Bedlington Terriers’ Welfare Park, a tense opening exchange saw Cramlington playing their trademark possession football before new signing Jerry Mamuini broke the deadlock with two goals in quick succession, calmly finishing twice when put through on goal.
The second half was a much more even affair with Montagu pushing forward trying to get back into the game.
Half chances were spurned at both ends before Mamuini again broke clear and took the game beyond Montagu’s grasp, completing a memorable hat-trick and clinching the trophy for Cramlington Juniors.
Manager Graeme Kidd praised the team performance.
He said: “We knew it would be a very tough game against Montagu so went with a specific game plan, which the lads executed perfectly.
“We are all absolutely delighted for Jerry – to score a hat-trick to win the cup is a marvellous achievement.”
