A BEAMING Ashington CFC manager Gary Middleton emerged from the dressing room on Saturday after his side’s comfortable 3-0 victory at Newcastle Benfield and praised what he described as being a “collective team performance.”
Middleton said: “It was a great three points. We had two or three good chances before we scored but once we had gone one then two-nil up we were in control.
“And if I’m honest I thought we controlled the whole 90 minutes.
“The result was never in doubt and the third goal just sealed it.
“We’ve had lots of good individual displays over the season but it was pleasing that it was collective team performance – and of course it was a superb result.”
