New Hartley started brightly with Callum Uddgren and Ursene Mounda controlling midfield and Paddy Gibbons working tirelessly up front.

But it was Benfield strikers Paul Blackett and Dylan Mylanbu going closest in the first half hour.

But it was the home side who broke the deadlock a minute before half-time through a great individual goal by midfielder Ben Sampson.

Benfield took over the second half and Blackett again went close.

But the Hartley defence of jake Dutton and David Hughes stood strong, supported by Oscar Stone and Ben Shaw.

And Hartley still looked dangerous on the attack with Jay Wilcox going close a couple of times near the end.

Late in the game Benfield striker Ethan Tait tested Hartley keeper Tom Craney, but the number one stood firm and ran out 1-0 winners.
