New Hartley Juniors made it three wins in a row with a hard fought victory over Norton & Stockton Ancients.

Hartley’s first ever visit to the Teessiders’ Northern League ground saw a goalless first half.

But the deadlock was broken jut minutes after the break when a Jak Ditchburn cross struck a Hartley defender on the back and somehow managed to find its way past the Norton keeper.

Moments later saw the turning point of the game when a Norton defender struck Hartley’s Ben Shaw in the box and the visitors were awarded a penalty while the offender received a red card. Marcus McCreedy slotted home the kick to put Hartley two up.

Hartley added a third with a Paul Dunn strike and substitute Lewis Xiberras completed the scoring to give them all three points.

New Hartley are in action this Saturday with a home fixture against Ryhope CW with a 2pm kick-off.
