New Hartley end season with a win

New Hartley Juniors travelled to Houghton-le-Spring to face high-flying rivals Lambton Street in their final game of the season.

It is always a tough game between the two sides and Hartley had only won once on their previous five visits to the Durham side.

This one was to be Hartley’s night, though, and they took the lead midway through the first half when defender Ross Wilson arrived in the Lambton box to slot home.

The lead was doubled on 70 minutes with Paul Dunn smashing home with a great finish to seal the points for New Hartley.
