A GOOD week for New Hartley Juniors saw them lead the table after a 2-2 draw away to Benfield in midweek followed by a 3-2 win over league newcomers Willington on Saturday.
It was Willington that took the lead on five minutes when Chris Hardy’s effort from long range
went in off the post.
Hartley looked dead and buried when the Durham side went further ahead on 75 minutes when Jake Wilson rounded Page in the Hartley goal to slot home.
Then the home side were awarded a penalty minutes later only for David Luke to see his spot kick saved by Mundall.
With 12 minutes remaining Hartley pulled one back through substitute Sean McRoberts, and their never say die spirit paid off when they levelled through a Peter Ravenshill free kick.
Then two minutes from time Ravenshill got his second and Hartley’s third for a 3-2 win which put them top of the league.
On Saturday Hartley travel to face Sunderland-based outfit Lampton Street in the league.
