New Hartley put six past Esh Winning

New Hartley Juniors were back in league action at the weekend and put six past hosts Esh Winning in a comprehensive win.

With quite a few players away, Hartley drafted three U16s into the squad, Leif Davis, Jake Jensen and Jack Ramsey.

The visitors started the game well on the Northern League ground, and when Ryan McKie was brought down in the box, he picked himself up and tucked the spot kick away.

New Hartley pressed well and a great touch by Lews Xiberras put in McKie and he scored his second of the day and 25th in 12 games this season.

It was all New Hartley, but a mistake at the back let in the home side, but a great save by keeper Tom Craney foiled him.

But the same striker was then fouled and Esh Winning tucked away the penalty.

But five minutes later, two late challenges by an home player saw him receive a red card.

Just on half-time a superb strike by Jack Cooper made it 3-1.

In the second half New Hartley dominated and a great goal by Xiberras made it 4-1 on 55 minutes.

Then the introduction of the three U16 players saw them make an immediate impact.

Great work down the left by Davis saw Jensen fire home on his debut before a last minute penalty by Xiberras made final score 6-1.
