New Hartley through to semi-finals
Northumberland based New Hartley progressed into the semi final of the Durham Youth Cup with a hard fought 3-1 win over previously unbeaten Darlington RA.
New Hartley themselves have only lost one game this season, a league game, against Darlington.
The game, which was a great advert for junior football, saw the visitors take the lead on 20 minutes when Alfie Weallans found the bottom corner of the Darlington goal from the edge of the box.
New Hartley doubled their lead when Dylan Adams lobbed the home keeper from 20 yards to make it 2-0.
Darlington fought back though, and striker Joe Lamb made it 2-1 right on the stroke of half time.
Midway through the second half New Hartley extended their lead when Alfie Weallans scored his second of the game and made the final score 3-1.
New Hartley will join Silksworth, Consett and Horden in the semi finals.
