Jarrow Roofing manager Richie McLoughlin admitted after his side had gone down 3-1 against Ashington at Woodhorn Lane on Saturday that he had no complaints about the result.
“I didn’t think we played as bad as being 3-1 down because I thought we performed OK, but so too did Ashington, so I have no complaints.
"It was a daft penalty to concede which gave the home team the opportunity to go in front, but then both sides had chances and to be honest I didn’t think there was much in the game at all.
“Second half, if we had got a goal back, it might have been a different story, but Ashington’s two early strikes basically killed the game.
"However, we battled back and showed character, which I was happy with because in certain games we haven’t shown that.”
