Kyle Oliver scored the decisive second goal for Ashington against Durham City at the weekend on his 23rd birthday.
And afterwards dedicated the goal to his daughter Bella Grace.
The Ashington born midfielder said: “We had a shaky start to the season but to top the league campaign off with a goal in front of our fans was just brilliant.
“The supporters were a different class today, singing for the full 90 minutes, and I can’t thank them enough.”
Oliver described his moment of glory which put the icing on his celebration cake.
“It was a great move,” he said. “Jonathan Giles has picked the ball up and spotted Andrew Johnson who in turn has found me.
“I gave the keeper the eyes to slot the ball past him and I’m thrilled to bits.
“I’m very proud to play for my home town team and I can’t give enough praise to my team-mates and the management, but the goal I scored today was for my little girl, Bella Grace, who is six-months-old.”
Oliver added: “I played in three positions today, starting on the right side of midfield then in the number ten role before switching to right back.
“We wanted to end our league programme on a high and we have certainly done that.”
