Bedlington Terriers have arranged seven pre-season friendlies ahead of the forthcoming season - all away as they look to improve on a disappointing 2014-15 campaign.
They will face four sides from the league below themselves and three stern tests against clubs from the Northern Alliance premier division.
Manager Andy Ferrell said: “For me, pre-season isn’t about getting results, it is about getting the squad match fit for the start of the season on August 8.
“I am looking forward to getting started with the lads, a fresh start and it is a new challenge for me which I can’t wait for.”
The first of which comes in the shape of Red House Farm on Wednesday, July 8, at Kingston Park Road, with the second three days later against Ashington Colliers.
Northern League division two outfit Heaton Stannington will be their next challenge as they will be making the short trip to Grounsell Park three days later.
Coach Lane will be the destination of Bedlington’s fourth game a week later against Team Northumbria, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season.
Ferrell added: “This season will certainly be a work in progress, but I am fairly confident that we can surprise one or two people with the resources we have.”
Fitness levels will certainly be tested in the final week of pre-season with the remaining three games coming in the space of four days.
Shankhouse will be the opposition on Wednesday, July 29, with Northern League division two outfits Whickham and Chester-le-Street being the final two tests before the season starts.
