Real off to a flier

THE MB Socca six-a-side men’s league at Hirst Welfare Centre in Ashington saw the new season get-off to a flier as reigning division one champions Real Ashington met division two title holders Station Boys.

The game was a steamy affair with a Real player sin-binned for two minutes and tackles flying in hard but fair.

Promoted side Station played some excellent stuff but were undone by the sheer class of Real Ash as they won 4-2.

Meanwhile Base FC had a 3-0 win over North Seaton Elephant as the other promoted team The Whipping Boys beat Multiple Scoregasms 1-0.

In division two, Station FC took on Ashington All-Stars in an end to end game. And just as Station FC looked like losing in the dying moments when Ashington were awarded a penalty, their relief was made known to all as the ball went over and the game ended 3-3.

Brazilliant pulled off an amazing display to beat relegated Sparta Hatbreath 2-0. The final game was a 3-0 win for the Doggers.
