THE sunshine was out in full last Thursday at The Hirst Welfare Centre, and there was certainly some entertaining football to match as MB Socca Leagues hosted another top night of action.
In a double headed game Real Ashington faced St Ella in which Real needed to win to cement their place at the top of division one.
The first tussle saw one-way traffic as Real piled on the pressure and outplayed their hosts to win 8-2.
In the return, St Ella team rejuvanated with introduction of supersub Jewels and deservedly led 2-1 at half-time.
However, they ran out of gas in the second and after a sterling effort eventually lost 6-2.
North Seaton Elephant kept the pressure on at the top with a 3-0 victory over The Biggin.
Multiple Scoregasms faced their old foes Sparta Hatbreath and they were celebrating as they won 4-2.
Performance of the night was in the second division and Station Boys served up a treat of clinical finishing to register an emphatic 7-0 victory over Ashington All Stars.
Station FC are closing in on the title and they just got their noses in front to hold off revitalised A Town Rangers 3-2.
There was not too much between The Doggers and Brazilliant as both found their goal scoring touch, but The Doggers ended victorious with a 3-2 victory.
In the final game The Whipping Boys defeated Not In Service 3-0.
