Real sparkle from Ash and Jewellers

THE top two teams in the MB Socca Leagues division one showed why they lead the way as newly crowned champions Real Ashington and runners-up V & N Jewellers turned on the style in their penultimate games last Thursday night at Hirst Welfare Centre.

With manager Tony absent and fielding a weakened side, ACE United still proved no match for Real Ashington as they comfortably won 6-0 to remain six points clear.

V & N Jewellers played some breathtaking one touch football at times and put seven past Bankhouse with no reply.

Station Boys consolidated third with a gritty display against Multiple Scoregasms to win 4-1.

The division two trophy winners have already been confirmed and both had friendly games to keep them on their toes with champions The Whipping Boys winning 6-1 against newly joined Athletic OMG.

Runners-up Station FC met old foes Station Boys in what proved a feisty affair for the referee as he dealt with some unneccessary comments from some players.

The final game saw Ashington All Stars and Newsham draw 3-3.
