Real topple Biggin in tussle between top two sides in league

THE top two teams clashed Thursday night in the MB Socca Leagues division one as leaders The Biggin met Real Ashington, who went into the game one point behind.

Real Ashington came out on top as they pipped their rivals 2-1 to go one point clear.

North Seaton Elephant took advantage of Biggin’s slip up and move in to second place after recording a 3-1 victory over Sparta Hatbreath.

Reigning champions Base FC seem to have lost their way and dropped a further two points as they were held 1-1 against Multiple Scoregams.

The final game saw St Ella beat Newbiggin Blaze 3-0.

In division two, top team Station Boys were made to fight all the way to claim the three points as they just scraped past Not In Service to win 2-1.

Station FC are two points behind as they were involved in a tussle with Ashington All Stars – 2-2 the final score.

The Whipping Boys were the more clinical in their finishing as they won 5-2 against Brazilliant, who had gone one-nil up after only two minutes.

Bottom team A Town Rangers continue to battle on but still look for their first point as they were beaten 3-0 by The Doggers.
