BLYTH Spartans Under-15s continued their fine form with a 7-1 win over Grainger Park.
Sometimes a scoreline can flatter a side and this match was one of those such occasions.
Spartans should have rattled in double figures, such was there superiority.
In cold conditions and appearing to be playing in second gear, Spartans dominated from start to finish, and the result of game lies more in Blyth’s development than Grainger’s failings.
This is quickly becoming a team to watch, with slick passing and strength in depth. Team spirit is evident for everyone to see and hopefully they can see the job out and get the promotion their play deserves.
For the record, the goals were scored by Alex Robinson (2), Jake Whisson (2), Samuel Johnson, Luke Watson and Ayrton Browning, with James Gillie securing the man of the match award.
Before the game there was a minute’s respect to Gary Speed.
