Blyth Spartans.

Blyth Spartans Juniors are a well established community club offering opportunities for all ages and abilities, but they will now run alongside the Spartans Academy which will represent the club in the Junior Premier League.

The Academy will focus on Elite Player Performance, developing their technical, tactical, physical and mental capabilities.

Coaching will be delivered by the professional Dugout Football Coaching and some sessions and player mentoring will also be offered by the first team coaching staff.

There will be multiple training sessions each week including age specific strength and conditioning and players will be constantly assessed to ensure the pace and development is maintained.

Spartans say this will be the perfect opportunity for players who missed out on being signed up by the large north east academies.

A club spokesman said it was the ‘final piece of the jigsaw’ as they can now offer a football path for players from four through to U18 level, including an advanced development squad for U6s, junior teams from U7s to U16s with the Academy running from U9s to U18s.

They will also continue to run an U19 football programme in partnership with the Tyne Metropolitan College who will compete in the National League Academy Division.
