Spartans line up friendly fixtures

Blyth Spartans AFC have announced five pre-season friendlies, as Michael Nelson’s side prepare for the 2021/22 National League North campaign.

Preparations for the new season officially get underway on Saturday, July 10 when Blyth visit Northern Premier League West side Marske United.

The first home friendly then follows a week later (Saturday, July 17) with the opposition to be confirmed next week.

Spartans also face North Shields, South Shields, Hebburn Town and Morpeth Town ahead of the league start date on Saturday, August 14.

The confirmed friendlies (so far) are:

Saturday, July 10th: Marske United (A). 12pm kick-off.

Saturday, July 17th: Opposition TBC (H). 3pm kick-off.

Wednesday, July 21st: North Shields (A). 7:45pm kick-off.

Saturday, July 24th: South Shields (H). 3pm kick-off.

Saturday, July 31st: Hebburn Town (A). 3pm kick-off.

Tuesday, August 3rd: Morpeth Town (H). 7:45pm kick-off.

Information regarding ticketing details – Covid-19 pending – will be released closer to the time.

The club hopes to announce additional friendlies for Tuesday, July 27 and Saturday, August 7 in due course.

Meanwhile, Spartans will return to competitive action alongside North East rivals Darlington, Gateshead and Spennymoor Town when the North and South divisions get underway on Saturday, August 14 and run through to May 7.
