Station FC hit seven to lead league

THURSDAY night was again thriving with tension and action as the MB Socca Leagues Men’s six-a-side action resumed at the Hirst Welfare Centre as divisions one and two entered their fourth week of competition.

Leaders and reigning division one champions Base FC took on last season’s runners-up Real Ashington.

The game was one-sided as Real recorded a resounding 4-1 win to avenge some of the disappointment to losing out on the championship last season.

Tony’s men are hungry for the title and are showing it.

Newsham lost 5-0 to Sparta Hatbreath, who have bounced back from a mixed start to the season.

North Seaton Elephant want to come back from a poor season last year and they beat Multiple Scoregasms 5-0.

The final game in division one saw The Biggin and Newbiggin Blaze draw 2-2.

Division two kicked off and joint leaders Station FC and The Grand faced each other.

The Grand were depleted and manager Dan was forced to play, and the missing members showed as Station at one stage led 5-2.

The Grand pulled it back to 5-4 but Station finished them off and won 7-5.

One player from The Grand was banned for one week for dissent to the referee as MB Socca Leagues made it clear they do not tolerate any abuse towards an official.

Brazilliant beat Newbiggin Bad Boys 3-1, Station Boys drew 1-1 with the Doggers and in the final game Ashington All-Stars moved into second spot with an excellent 2-1 win over A-Town Rangers.
