The first round of the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League George Davison Cup saw Ashington Station Lounge reach the second round with a 7-2 home win against neighbours Ashington Sporting Club.
Damien Stevens led the scoring for Lounge with four goals, Brent Aisbit added two more and Liam Carr completed the scoring. On target for Sporting Club with both goals was Marc Ord.
High Street went down at home against Red Lion Earsdon by the odd goal in three. Brandon Nadeem scored for Street while Charlie Thompson and Nicky Thompson scored for Lion.
Also through to the next round are Newsham Victory after a 5-0 home win against Ashington Northern with goals from Jamie Harrison (2), Connor Vincent, Daniel James and Mark Langlands.
Ashington Whitehouse from division one beat Red Lion Bedlington from the premier division 3-1 at home. On target for Whitehouse were Michael Freathy, Michael Simm and Sean Laing. Liam Hornsby scored the consolation goal for Lion.
Burradon and New Fordley beat Forest Hall for the second time in two weeks, winning 13-1. Goals came from Michael Chilton (4), Dale Pearson (2), Andrew Purvis (2), Sean McRoberts (2), Andy Malone, Connor Andrews and Steve Howe.
In round two, Broomhill North End Trap won at 4-1 home against Cramlington Green, who had Karl Boughen on target. But strikes from Joe Henderson (2), Kevin Bell and Reece Ramsey won it.
Blyth Last Orders were taken all the way to penalties by first division East Chevington. It was 2-2 on 90 minutes and 3-3 at the end of extra time. Goals came from Martyn Hepple (2) and Ross Gilchrist for Last Orders and Simon Reay (2) and Max Anderson for Chevington. Last Orders won the shoot-out 5-4.
In round, one of the Alan Davison Cup, Spring Gradens won at 8-1 at home against FC Beacon. On target for Gardens were John Amos (4), Adam Morien (2), Barry Robert Buckley and Steven Goicoechea. Daniel Lomis scored for Beacon.
In the premier division, Bedlington Social Club won 8-0 at home against Isabella Blyth with goals from Joe Moscrop with (4), Jamie Chapman, Michael Carr, Connor Montgomery and Chris Phillips.
On Sunday, both junior and senior finals of the David Crichton Cup will be held at Bedlington Terriers’ ground.
The junior final between Newcastle East End Juniors and Wallsend Juniors will kick-off at 10.30am. Then at 2pm it is Billy Mill North Shields against holders Burradon and New Fordley.
