Sunday League update

In a Blyth derby Blyth Town Sunday and Newsham and New Delaval shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the weekend.

The Town looked like they may hold on to take all three points having to play some off the game with ten players. However, the Newsham star striker David Lillico scored his second goal of the game with time running out. Goals for Blyth town came from Ritchie Kennedy and Ross Gilchrist.

Bedlington Social Club warmed up for their County Cup match next week with a 6-1 home win against West Allotment SC. Goals for the Social Club came from Andrew McLennen (2). Further goals came from Damien Stevens, Peter Roberts, George Priest and Josh Monaghan. Paul Collinson scored the consolation goal for the Allotment.

Ellington Plough went down at home 3-1 against Blyth Rangers. Byron Atkinson scored for the Plough and on target for Blyth Rangers were Joe Jones (2) and Jamie Carling.

The Fat Ox had a win at home, 2-1 against Bedlington Breakers. Goals for the Fat Ox came from Askel Juul and Adam Illingworth whilst Reece Kirkwood scored for Breakers.

Bubbles Ashington went down 6-0 at home against the very good Bedlington Station side. Leading the scoring for the Station was Joe Thompson with a hat-trick. Further goals came from Lewis Sampson, Ethan Page and Matty Dobson.

Next Sunday the league has three teams involved in NFA County and Minor Cup games. In the Sunday Cup Bedlington SC Utd will be at home against Newsham and New Delaval. Then in the Sunday Minor Cup West Allotment will be away against Newcastle Chemfica.
