BEDLINGTON Terriers FC will begin this seasons FA Vase campaign tomorrow (Saturday) with a trip to Rotherham to face Northern Counties East Premier Division outfit Parkgate FC.
And in preparation for the Second Round Proper of the FA Carlsberg Vase, captain Steven Bowey and the club management have done their homework on the opposition.
Bowey said: “Parkgate are a very well organised and hard working team, we expect it will be a tough game but the lads are flying at the moment and the dressing room is buzzing. We can beat anyone on our day.” “Tony (Lowery) has been to watch them and I’ve got a report off my old team mate from Harrogate so we won’t be taking them lightly,” he added.
“The arrival of John Campbell is a bonus, it’s made our forward line by far the best in the league and all four forwards will have to be at their very best to stay in the team.”
The club are taking a separate coach full of fans to the match and are hoping to bring them back home happy and looking forward to the draw for the next round.
On Monday Bedlington hosted current FA Vase holders, Whitley Bay at Welfare Park, match which was mutually agreed to move earlier in the week to give the maximum recovery time in preparation for both sides.
The game finished 4-0 to Bedlington with second half goals by Stewart, Shandran, Campbell and Richardson in front of 341 visitors.
Followers will be able to keep updated on the match from the clubs twitter account which can be found on clubs website at www.bedlingtonterriersfc.com
