White House and United Services serve up 13 goals

The final of the David Crichton Memorial Cup takes place on Sunday at Bedlington Terriers’ Welfare Park between Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League side Burradon and New Fordley and North Shields Billy Mill from the Cramlington League.

The game kicks-off at 2pm. The junior final is on Friday night at 7pm start.

All monies taken from both finals will be shared between local charities.

In the first round of the George Davison Cup, Ashington White House beat Blyth United Services 8-5 with two goals apiece from Gavin Armstrong, John Gall, Ben Davison and Andrew McLennen, David Long scored all five for Services.

Forest Hall also moved into the next round with a 6-3 home win against Marden Residents. Scoring for the home side were Joe Kennedy, Ryan Anderson (2), Paul Errington and Jamie Kennedy. On target for Residents were Tony Fawcett, Keith Redford and Leeroy Odd.

Lynemouth Institute and AE Phoenix played out a 2-2 after extra time with Lynemouth winning 5-4 on penalties. John Shortt scored both for Lynemouth while Craig Miller and Jason Wilson were on target for Phoenix.

A make-shift Newbiggin Bankhouse went down 6-0 at home against Earsdon Red Lion, who had Michael Hartley (2), Graham Smith (2), Steven Cowan and Scott Purcell on target.

In round one of the Alan Davison Cup, Blyth Last Orders secured their place in the next round with a 4-0 home win against Blyth High Street with goals from Paul Katz, James Sinton, Andrew Scott and Mark Harnor.

In the premier division, Ashington Grand went down 4-1 at home to North Shields Royal Arms. Carl Crate scored for Grand with Alan Baptist (2), Les and Nicky Thompson Royal’s scorers.

Blyth Comrades beat Cramlington Phoenix 2-1 with goals from Chris Glass and a 35-yard screamer from Daniel Carr. Jamie Summers scored for Phoenix.

Burradon and new Fordley had a 5-1 home win against New Delaval and Newsham. James Bell scored the consolation for Newsham, but goals from Graeme Carins (2), Michael Chilton (2) and Ian Lee won it.

A last minute goal saw Wansbeck Flavour Bar beat Ashington Bubbles. Stephen Frater put the home side in front only for Andrew Dawson to level before Srepeh Patterson scored the late winner.

In division one, Blyth South Beach won at home 4-1 against Ashington Excelsior thanks to Curtis Miller (2), Joe Betts and Dean Fitch. Jamie Graham scored for Excelsior.

FC Beacon picked up their first points of the season with a 5-0 home win against Stakeford Cherry Tree with Michael Lamb scoring four and Dan Atherton the other.

In a seven-goal thriller, Newsham Vic went down by the odd goal at home against Blyth Waterloo SC. Scoring for Vic were David Lillico, David Millin and Daniel James. On target for Waterloo were Chris Coppen, Anthony Rutherford, David Lowther and Mark Rylatt.
