Two riders are celebrating after winning all the British Showjumping Northern Leagues between them in the 2014-15 season.
Nicole Southern and Sophie Bass have both progressed immesuarably over the last three years.
Nicole bought her pony Southern Cookie, three years ago and she has never looked back.
They have gone from learning to jump to winning the 90cm and 1m British Showjumping Northern Club League 2014-15, where they competed at Lane Farm Equestrian in Bedlington.
Nicole is also a member of the British Riding Club - The Bay and competes in team events and in a range of other equestrian disciplines on Cookie.
She said: “Cookie is a one in a million pony. I’m so lucky to have her.
“I love competing but nothing beats long hacks and galloping along the beaches with my best friend.”
Sophie was eight-years-old when her parents bought her Star, a little 13.2hh ride and drive pony.
Over the last three years the pair have progressed from learning to jump poles on the ground to competing and winning the British Showjumping Club 70cm and 80cm pony leagues with many double clears and top placings.
Aside from successfully competing regularly in show jumping and dressage, the pair love nothing more than a good gallop across the beach or a school around a cross country course.
Sophie said she is “over the moon” to win the Northern Club Pony 70 and 80cm leagues and can’t wait to go to the Show Jumping Awards Ball in October to receive her rosette.
She said: “Star is my pony of a lifetime and I love her so much.”
