Ashington boxers lose decisions in Wales

Ashington female boxer and national champion Daryle Jobling travelled to Wales for a second fight with Amie Morris from Port Talbot Town ABC.

Jobling had previously beaten the young Welsh boxer at the Alnwick show in April in a closely fought contest.

And although she fought a good fight and battled well through the three rounds, the decision went in favour of the Welsh boxer.

Coach Alan Buller felt it was a controversial decision but looked forward to the prospect of another contest in Aberdeen.

Next up was Joel Telford against Welsh opponent Christian Davies.

Telford boxed exceptionally and was very disappointed when the final bell went and the decision went against him.

Other boxers also representing the area who gave a good show were the unfortunate Jamie Simbert, who retired in round one, and Jay Furness, who was also on the wrong end of a decision from the Welsh officials.
