Ashington’s Parkhead Powersports Club holding Home Nations event

Ashington-based Parkhead Powersports Club are organising an annual national event later this month.

Every year the Great Britain Powerlifting Federation hold a Home Nations Powerlifting Championships, and this year it is the remit of the Hirst Welfare Centre club to organise and run the competition.

It takes place on Saturday, October 24, with four teams involved.

A total 48 athletes, 12 from each of the participating nations – Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England – will be taking part.

The competition will be held at the Hirst Welfare Centre in Alexandra Road, and the weigh-in will take place from 8am with the competition starting at around 10am.

There is no cover charge on the door and all are welcome.
