Badminton players raise money for charity

Kind-hearted badminton players took part in a charity competition to raise money for a good cause.

The event was organised by Kevin Patterson and was supported by Asda (Blyth) and the Tandoori House takeaway in Blyth.

Held at The Sporting Club of Blyth, the tournament raised money for the Just Help Foundation – www.justhelpfoundation.co.uk

The funds will be sent directly to the families of those affected by the recently fatory tragedy in Bangladesh where 1,129 people dies when a factory building collapsed.

Mr Patterson said £860 was raised on the day but more donations are still to come in and a target of £1,000 is expected to be achieved.

Blyth Valley MP Ronnie Campbell presented the tournament trophies to the winners and runners-up on the day.
