A FRIENDLY rivalry between two European swimming clubs continued in the pool.

Blyth Lifeguard & Swimming Club faced a team from TSV Solingen in Germany.

And it was Blyth who won the trophy, winning it back after an 11-year period thanks to a 233-227 scoreline.

All swimmers were congratulated.

The exchange visits first started in 1971.

Club chairman and coach Brian Dawson said: “We look forward to continuing the visits and we hope to be able to retain the trophy in two years’ when we visit Solingen.”
