Bonus point win for battling Blyth rekindles their promotion hopes

Seaton Carew 20-25 Blyth RFC

Blyth came away from Seaton Carew with a well deserved bonus point win to consolidate third place in the league and put themselves back into the promotion race.

Blyth started well and had the home side under pressure for long periods but against the run of play conceded a break away try.

Two tries from Broadhead, Blyths full back them in front only for Seaton to get their second try and two conversions to lead 20 - 10.

Another Blyh try by Osbourne and a McCardle penalty closed the scoreline to only two points before centre Gallon clinched the game and the bonus point fourth try converted by McCardle

Next week Blyth are away to Yarm, 2.15pm KO.

Before Blyths 2nd XV game against Washington the team was presented with a new set of strips by the club’s main sponsor, Chris McGlen of Kirkland Heating and Plumbing.

The club would like to thank Chris for his continued support as this is the second year and hopefully he will continue in the future
