ASHINGTON Boxing Club saw two of its boxers – juniors Josh Johnstone and Brandon Freeman – travel to the Innisfree Social Club in Longbenton recently.

Johnstone was unlucky to drop a points decision to the host club boxer Andrew Robinson from Forest Hall.

He boxed well and put together some excellent combinations from start to finish and was unfortunate to lose out on the decision.

Freeman faced A Nun from Catterick and stopped him in the first round with all guns blazing with some good stiff jabs and some good right hands.

Freeman, who comes from a boxing family with his father Wayne fighting, had Nun on the back foot throughout.

Coach Alan Buller said Freeman had been a credit to the club in his first bout.
