Cramlington Rockets have officially launched Rocket Tots, a new initiative aimed at engaging toddlers in the sport of rugby league.
Created by the club’s burgeoning Community Department, Rockets Tots allows children to develop motor and social skills.
Demand for Rockets Tots is already high, with 30 youngsters attending the launch event held at Burnside Primary School.
Community Development Officer Danny Gilroy said: “We are very excited about launching this new project as we believe it is something that all the children and schools will really enjoy.
“At Cramlington Rockets our vision is simple; we want to engage as many children and adults with the sport of rugby league and a positive message about staying active and healthy.”
He added: “The project will not be just focused on rugby league. As we are a rugby club, you would be forgiven to think that these sessions are based solely on rugby but that is far from the truth.
“The Rocket Tots programme is a great way to engage children who are in reception, year 1 and year 2 at school.
“Our unique programme allows children to develop new and existing skills in a safe and fun environment. We promote a wide range of development including social skills, agility, coordination and much, much more.”
The Rockets are now taking bookings from local schools. To book your school or for information on their Easter camps email firstname.lastname@example.org, visit www.cramlingtonrockets.co.uk or contact 07984 630083.
