Northumberland-based Cramlington Rockets are further expanding their record-breaking Rocket Camps with the launch of its first ever Junior Elite Rugby Camp.
For children in school Years 4 to 6, the U9-U11s at the club, it is a chance for younger players to spend two whole days having fun while improving their rugby skills.
“Rocket Camps have grown and grown in recent years” said Rockets Community manager Steven Beaty.
“We now see over 100 children every time we run them across Cramlington and Alnwick for children aged five to 16-years-old.”
“We work really hard to make them fun but also to reflect what the kids want.
“We now have a lot of U11s who have been playing rugby for a couple of years who absolutely love the game.
“The idea of being able to focus on rugby for two whole days was really exciting for them and for us and with already running a Senior Elite Rugby Camp for 12 to 16-year-olds, it was a natural step for us to introduce a junior one.”
Running from 10am to 3pm, the first junior camp will be on Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3, at Cramlington Sporting Club.
On the Tuesday, May 31, and Wednesday, June 1, there will also be the first two days of four Rockets Multi-sport Camps.
To attend is £10 a day, but anyone wishing to attend all four days of camps (two days of multi-sports then two days of junior elite) can get the fourth day free and pay £30.
