Five wins in seven fights for Ashington Boxing Club

Ashington Boxing Club are in buoyant mood after enjoying five wins out of the last seven fights.

On his debut, Matty Ferries stopped Alnwick boxer Jay Furness, then Josh Johnstone, who has won two out of the last three bouts following victories at Sunderland and the Federation Breweries, lost at Alnwick.

National champion Daryle Jobling has now consecutive wins under her belt after a stoppage in her second round contest at Hartlepool Owten Manner against Carla Murray from the host outfit.

Ashington’s next port of call is on Saturday, May 31, when they travel to Wales with Jobling – who beat Amie Morrison at Alnwick – on the bill in a return fight.

Ashington coach Alan Buller revealed that he is “well pleased” with the nap hand of victories as the club continues to prosper.
