Ashington junior boxer Liam Huntley travelled to Boldon recently to face his third opponent of the season.
The venue was the Shack where 12-year-old Huntley faced host boxer Alex Johnstone.
From the first bell to the last Huntley had Johnstone in trouble with relentless pressure.
There was an early first count then later in the fight Huntley upped the tempo and delivered some cracking combinations to the upper body and head.
Come the end of the third round Johnstone sustained a second count where the referee stepped in to bring the fight to an end.
Huntley was elated with the result and coach Alan Buller was over the moon with his young boxer’s performance.
“Liam is a credit to the club and fully deserved the victory,” he said.
