Josh Johnstone back to winning ways in the ring

Ashington ABC Junior boxer Josh Johnstone has been in action for the third time this season with only one blip occurring with a split decision going in favour of Spennymoor’s Alan Comby.

Either side of that fight has come two emphatic victories, one at Bridlington against Jake Morgan of Merlin Youth and the second against Leam Lane boxer Calum McPhearson recently.

The pair have now met twice with Johnstone winning on both occasions.

From the first bell to the finish it was Johnstone who showed more willingness and determination to take control of the fight, immediately putting McPhearson under immense pressure.

The unanimous decision came as no surprise due to Johnstone’s dominance.

Coach Alan Buller said: “All the hard work has certainly paid off for Josh, so well done to him.”
