Blyth Running Club had some good results in the final fixture of the North East Harrier Cross Country League, held at Wrekenton.
In the Under 13 Boys race, running from the fast pack, Josh Fiddaman set the fastest time as he took home a silver medal – securing third in the individual Under 13 Boys league.
Running in only his second cross country, Liam Marsh just missed out on a medal as he finished fourth in the Under 15 Boys race.
In only her second Harrier League run, Rachelle Falloon had another excellent run to finish in the top ten in the Senior Ladies race, promoting her to the fast pack next year.
Rob Barclay was the first Blyth man back with a top 40 finish. Despite having a depleted team, the Senior men managed to hold onto second place in their league and this will see them promoted next season.
On Sunday, April 12, Blyth Running Club will be holding the “Spirit Of The Staithes” 10km run, which this year is sponsored by Transped Logistics and Port of Blyth.
The race will start at Blyth Quayside at 10am. All finishers will receive a T-shirt.
Entry is limited to 600 participants. Entry forms are available at Blyth Sports Centre and other sports centres in the region or online at www.blythrunningclub.org.uk
